Pinfig 0.10

The last release, 0.9, came out in April. Since then we've rewritten almost all of Pinfig. The idea hasn't changed: your work lives in a folder on your computer, and AI helps you think with it rather than for it. Nearly everything around that idea is new, so this release moves to 0.10 rather than 0.9.1. It's the version we're building 1.0 from: tell us what to fix on the way.

azwu, your partner in the app

azwu working on a board

azwu is new. Ask it in plain words and it works on your actual notes, boards, tables and PDFs: it reads what you point it to, makes changes you can see, and asks when it isn't sure. It runs on a model on your computer or on a provider you choose.

Notebooks

Notebooks are for longer work: a brief, then a small team of agents that draft, check and argue while you watch and steer. Everything they write is yours to edit.

Marks and analysis in the PDF reader

Highlight and comment as you read, then run an analysis on a paper or a whole folder of them: summaries, key claims, methods, with every point linked back to its page.

Together, live

Most of Pinfig is now collaborative: notes, the new canvas, the new kanban, notebooks, the calendar and more. Invite people in and work on the same thing at the same time, cursors and all. azwu can join too, as one more collaborator.

Your week

The calendar

A calendar with day, week and month views, synced both ways with Google Calendar, and tasks that show up where they're due. The new Journal gives each day its own page: write the day's notes there, next to what's on your calendar.

Also new

  • ⌘K search across everything, with previews
  • A new canvas for boards and drawing, and a new kanban
  • An outliner: notes as nested lists you can fold, and zoom into one branch
  • Flashcards, quizzes, polls, ratings, and podcasts, and many many more from your content
  • Local models run by llama.cpp, faster and lighter
  • A cleaner look, in light and dark

Accounts instead of license keys

Pinfig is still free, with no account needed. Pro (live collaboration, notebooks, AI flows and plugins, early access) now follows your email: sign in with a 6-digit code and your plan is on every device, with no key to copy. If you bought a license before, sign in with the same email and your Pro carries over.

Upgrading

Download 0.10 from the download page, or let the app update itself. Your folder is upgraded the first time you open it; as with any big release, keep a backup first.
